YES, you read that right! Normally you would pay that to rent a couple of bikes for an hour or two. This will give you unlimited access during your stay. You will pick up the equipment in person at one of 3 local beach shops. The closest is a couple of blocks away, just a few minutes walk from your unit. We have a special arrangement with this shop and you will be able to check out unlimited equipment each day with our special certificate we will offer you. (Each adult will be required to sign liability waivers and present ID /credit card for security hold at the time of receiving the equipment.)

Janet & Scott are your hosts. We are a husband and wife team and we live nearby. We own and operate Mission Beach Villas, a highly rated vacation rental management business in San Diego.

We are available 7 am to 10 pm to answer questions during your stay.

Our storefront rental office, Mission Beach Villas, is a couple of blocks away, so if you need anything feel free to stop by! If you have an early flight, you may stow your luggage at our office so you can go to lunch or hang out on the beach until check-in time. And if you have an afternoon flight on checkout day you may also stow luggage. Just coordinate these details with us and we are happy to accommodate.

Before your stay, we are happy to suggest our favorite restaurants, and tourist attractions and will help you get acquainted with the area.

The best thing about the neighborhood is that there is so much within walking distance that you may not need a car. You could just take an Uber from the airport (7 miles away), get dropped off here and you're at the beach! We have local restaurants, trendy beach bars, excellent coffee spots, and breakfasts cafes all within a few short blocks. Sea World is just 3 miles away.

The location is the best spot of all of Mission Beach. It is on the south side of Santa Clara Place (the only traffic light in North Mission Beach), which means a non commercial area. It is far enough (1 mile) north of the roller coaster area so it's very removed from the tourist noise. It's located on a court with friendly neighbors in a quiet homey beach atmosphere.

Recreational opportunities abound. This beach rental is a few minutes walking distance to Santa Clara Point where there are numerous recreation activities and rentals available including: stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, windsurfing, catamarans, sail boats, water ski boats, and even jet packs. There are group classes and private lessons available for all of these activities. What's more, there are free yoga classes each day on the beach and two courts north.

It is equally centered between Belmont Park (the roller coaster area) and Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach, which are both 1 mile away, making this location removed from the tourist noise but yet accessible to the action if that's what you want.

There is a fantastic surf spot at the beach for beginners to advanced surfers, and great for spectators as well. There are affordable surf lessons offered daily in the beach right out in front by our friends at Surfari Surf School. And, we can point you to all the best surf spots in San Diego County. We also have two world class board shapers who are neighbors in case you want to get a new surfboard while you are here.

We offer self check-in via keyless digital entry. You will have private access to the unit so you may come and go as you please. There are no keys to lose, just a simple 4-digit passcode to remember.

This property is ideal for guests arriving via Uber or taxi. A dedicated parking space is no longer offered for this listing but there is free public parking on the street next to the apartment. Also there is a large recreation parking lot on Santa Clara Point nearby with a 5 minute walk. Keep in mind that parking can be challenging during the summer months and on weekends due to the close proximity to the beach.

There is plenty of free street parking. This property does NOT include a dedicated parking space and so this unit is ideal for people traveling without a car and arriving via taxi or Uber/Lyft. Due to its location across from the beach, street parking can be a bit challenging, especially during the summer months, late at night, or holiday weekends the rest of the year. Once you get here there is no need for a car. The beach is just across the street and there are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. But if you do bring a car, not a problem. There is a large free public recreational parking lot a couple of blocks away.

This unit faces Mission Blvd that can be road noise sensitive to light sleepers. We do supply a white noise machine in the bedroom to drown it out.

We supply AC during the peak summer months and early Fall (July - September), a portable AC in the bedroom and a window AC unit in main living room. When you first arrive the apartment might be quite warm because we don't always keep the AC's running when it is unoccupied. To rapidly cool down the apartment, simply open the windows and screened front door while running the ceiling fans to push out the hot air and pull in the cool air. The place should cool down in minutes with the cool ocean breeze. At that point close the windows and run the AC's. (If you do not follow this method, and simply run the AC's when you get in, it will likely take a couple of hours to bring the temp down to a comfortable level.)

We can connect you with a private bonfire on the beach. Includes set up and take down, fire wood, steel fire drum, roasting sticks, hot dogs, and s'mores. A perfect activity while waiting for the nightly summer Sea World fireworks over the bay. Inquire for details.

The vacation rental is thoroughly cleaned between each stay. However if you wish for a cleaning and change of linens during your stay we can arrange for the housekeeper to come for an additional charge of the standard cleaning fee. Please give us one day's notice so we can get this scheduled with the housekeeper.

Please note that we have occupancy based pricing in our settings. Please select the correct number of people in your group at the time of booking to get the correct pricing for your stay. Keep in mind, if you add more people to your group after booking the rate may adjust slightly. There is an additional charge of $20 per night for each additional person after the initial 2 people. This keeps our rates low and affordable for our average group size for this listing and helps us charge an appropriate fee for the additional linens and utilities used by a larger group size. If you don't bring a car you will be fine. More than half of our guests have come without a car and all have gotten around quite easily. Restaurants, shops, and convenience stores are within walking distance.

It is less than a 10-15 minute walk to Belmont Park where there is a giant roller coaster, rides, restaurants, bars, and shops.

Uber/Lyft are readily available for local transport at an affordable rate.

Riding bikes along the boardwalk is usually the most scenic way to get around and take in the atmosphere. We provide 15% off for beach cruiser bicycles at a nearby rental shop just 3 blocks away that rents bikes by the hour, day, or week. They also rent surfboards, wetsuits, stand-up paddle boards, and a lot of other fun beach equipment.

There is also a bus stop a few yards away that travels down Mission Blvd and will take you to Old Town in minutes. At Old Town there is a major transportation hub where you can transfer to any other bus line or transfer to the Trolley (San Diego's metro line) which will take you downtown.
